The Plea For Unity
This page contains letters and we have written to Christian Ministries as well as what responses we receive from them to ask them to prayerfully consider what it is they are doing in regards to the purity Gospel and the Unity of the faith in Christ Jesus. These are not accusations but encouragements to return to the truth and to make God truly first in all things. We are only doing this with Christian Ministries as is necessary. The time for division and heresy to be addressed is now.

| Minister : Matt Slick | Response |
(see written response below)
Dear Matt Slick and C.A.R.M. Associates,This letter is not an accusation but an encouragement to consider scripturally and prayerfully what it is you are doing as far a Christian ministry. While exposing the truth of false teachings is in general a worthwhile endeavor I think you would agree that if the one exposing false doctrine is guilty of false doctrine themselves it is not only incongruous but hypocritical. You do teach false doctrine. You also (maybe unwittingly) promote men's opinions over God's word and the leading of the Spirit as well as contribute to division in the body of Christ by promoting men's opinions and debate. Together let us look at the facts. These are your stated goals and while noble your are indeed in conflict with them.
- Bring glory and honor to God
- CARM does this by presenting the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ....
- Equip Christians in the truth
- CARM does this by providing information on Christian Doctrine, theology, evangelism, and other subjects. The goal is to present an accurate and biblical representation of Christian truth and answer the objections of critics of Christianity.
- Lead non-Christians to Christ.
- CARM does this by answering objections, teaching biblical truth, and promoting the saving gospel of Christ.

Eternal Security "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand," (John 10:27-28). Christ has done all that is needed for our salvation and he says that those who have eternal life will never perish. Those who appeared to be Christian but fell away never were Christians begin with (1 John 2:19). There is no "Once saved , Always saved" doctrine in scripture. What we have of salvation we have by faith. If faith stops, there is no salvation. It is easy to quote scriptures that give us the affirmative and positive of our salvation out of context while leaving out the believers responsibility. Consider the following portions of scripture in the Bible's own context.
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 13 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Millennium Because of the diverse opinions among godly Christians regarding the millennium, CARM considers amillennialism, premillennialism, and amillennialism, to be within the scope of Christian orthodoxy. Rapture Because of the diverse opinions among godly Christians regarding the rapture, CARM considers pre-trib rapture, mid-trib rapture, and post-trib rapture to be within the scope of Christian orthodoxy. There is no Pretribulation rapture. (Matthew 24:29-31 2Thess 2: 1-5). Jesus returns most definitely "after the tribulation of those days" and "gathers his elect from the four winds". His second coming and our gathering to be with him are what begin the "Day of the Lord" which is the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth. This cannot happen until the great falling away and antichrist has been revealed. The Millennial reign of Christ is clearly portrayed as a literal thousand year period in Revelation Chapter 20.To allow any other of "men's" opinions to be considered in orthodoxy is a crime against the clarity of scripture. It places men's opinions on par with God's word, it lends itself to division and debate. To make the word of God a matter of opinion is to lessen its authority. Plainly amillennialism, postmillennialism, pret rib and mid trib raptures are heretical.

Evangelism Part of the beliefs and Purpose of CARM is to carry out the work of evangelism which means that we must teach the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as refute false doctrines, false religions, and whatever else might contradict the word of God including such sins as homosexuality, adultery, pornography, pedophilia, bestiality, lying, fornication, false gospels, false gods, etc., inside and outside of the church. You write and I quote "we must teach the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as refute false doctrines, false religions, and whatever else might contradict the word of God ". Clearly you are promoting false doctrines and what ever else might contradict scripture while you set yourself up to judge their doctrines and practices. I believe you are a Christian but you need to examine your practices and beliefs before you propose to teach or correct others. One such heresy is the Calvinistic beliefs you uphold on paltalk. It is a heresy to say that Jesus only died for certain people like the "elect". Jesus is clearly scripturally portrayed as having died to justify all men and it is only those who receive him and believe in his name that are empowered to be saved.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
We have a choice. All men do. The real predestination of scripture is that God chose mankind to be held holy and blameless through Christ not Adam. This is why the lamb was considered slain before the foundations of the world. In other words it was always God's intention to justify man through Jesus. He is the man God always intended.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
And when were we (as the Ephesians were) included in this predestination?
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
We were included not before the foundation of the world, but rather when we believed. Scripture is clarity itself.
Please consider this letter carefully and prayerfully. You have both false doctrine and bad teaching. You are promoting debate and division. You are making the word of God a matter of Men's opinions. Please do pray and repent. In Christ

Response 07/25/2006
1. Matt Slick never answered my 2 e-mails and never read the letter and then finally told me in a private message he had no intention of responding. He then invited me to come to his room on paltalk and talk it over. It turned out to be not a discussion among Christian brothers but an ambush.
2. Answering my letter was simply not in his "priorities" he explained
3. He characterized my letter as a complaint. (at this point his became terse and his demeanor was patronizing.)
4. He accused me of wanting a “piece of him’ as if this were some sort of competition. He said “I would love to dismantle you”.
5. Matt Slick than began to insult me with a diatribe of rhetoric with out leaving me a space to answer his charges as he was the room moderator. It was all control from here on in. He started with saying I was not “very logical or knowledgeable” He told me I didn’t “know what I was talking about” while assuring me he wasn’t insulting me! He called my research “assumptions” while admitting he hadn’t even read my letter.
6. Matt Slick said he could ask me questions that would be quote “difficult for me” without ever asking them. So how does he know what would be difficult for me? He hadn’t read the letter or would allow me to answer.
7. He claimed the majority of the Christian church through out history was “almillennial in their views. Not true.(John in Revelation 20: and Peter in 2 Peter 3: say different.) It isn’t debatable. It is clearly a literal 1000 year period)
8.He accused me of not knowing the essentials of Christian doctrine. His means of qualifying what the “essentials" are were not scriptural at all.
9. He accused me of making judgments in “debatable issues” using Romans 14:1-12 as proof text. He said almillennialism and limited atonement are “debatable issues”. It is a fact Jesus died for all men. It isn’t debatable. Limited atonement (John Calvin's view that Jesus only died for the elect) is a false teaching as almillennialism is.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Romans 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
John 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Let us examine Romans 14 :1-12 and see what Paul meant when discussing debatable issues.
Romans 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Romans 4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. Romans 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. Romans 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. Romans 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. Romans10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Romans 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Romans 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
What Paul speaks of is clear disputable matters are matters that scripture does not address! To some (Jews) the Sabbath is a necessary observance. To others (gentiles) all days are holy. To some meat is just meat. But to some meats are unclean. Some may have been sacrificed to idols. These are all questions of conscience! Not scriptural truth such as the scriptural facts that Jesus died for all men and also that there is a literal millennium!
10. The rest was the same. After words when he had done at least 10 minutes of this rhetoric he didn’t make a place for me to answer. I then realized the fruitlessness of trying to reason with him and left his room. He would ask me questions and not allow me to answer each one on the microphone. You judge by facts not rhetoric here as to what is true. I attempted to warn him concerning such false teachings from one who sets himself up as a teacher of truth. In regards to his promotion of debate and making the word of God nothing but fodder for men's debates( promoting division) he challenged me to a debate! I am sad an honestly hoped for a different outcome.
